Approx. a 5-minute walk from Sakurajima Port, the photogenic Sakurajima Cafe is located on the grounds of Kokumin Shukusha Rainbow Sakurajima. While taking in spectacular views of Kinko Bay, you can enjoy a donburi steamed rice bowl lavishly made with Kagoshima’s brand amberjack, “Sakurakan” (only available during lunch on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays). There is also a great selection of visually fun sweets, including komikan citrus juice, matcha lattes, and “Sakurajima soft serve ice cream” made with locally produced tea. We also recommend stopping by the adjacent Sakurajima Magma Onsen hot spring to soothe any travel fatigue.
