Katsuichi in Makurazaki City is about an hour and a half by car from Kagoshima-Chuo Station.

Meijigura (Makurazaki City)
Shochu is made in a wide-mouthed jar that has been used for over 100 years. During the brewing season, you can watch the shochu being made right in front of your eyes. You can also purchase original shochu made only here.
Makurazaki Station (Makurazaki City)
The southernmost terminus station of JR. The lovely station building has a playful atmosphere, with a statue of Yamasachihiko, heart stones, and more inside. The bonito dishes offered in the vicinity are exquisite!
